„Food intolerances and allergies – Lifestyle diseases or metabolic disorders of increasing importance?“

Fructose intolerance, lactose intolerance, celiac disease, non-celiac gluten sensitivity, allergies to milk protein, fish, nuts and so on… More and more people – so it seems at least – are affected by food intolerances and allergies. This is reflected, among other things, in a growing offer of „free of“ foods in supermarkets. The causes of the disorders are manifold, as are the symptoms. The increasing presence of nutrition topics and cooking shows in the media and the growing attention of consumers with regard to the topic of „health and nutrition“ seem to be one reason for the increasing sensitivity of the population and the accumulation of self-diagnosed intolerances and allergies. SNFS would therefore like to take up the topic of „food intolerances and allergies“ and, in this context, help to separate the myths from the facts. Together with proven experts, SNFS examines the patho-physiological basics, the differentiation of various disease patterns associated with food intolerances and allergies, their frequency in the population and the recommended diets.
