‘There is no sincerer love than the love of food.’ – George Bernard Shaw
I come from the land of spices and flavourful food-INDIA, where while having a hearty breakfast we talk about lunch, over a sumptuous lunch we talk about dinner and over a healthy dinner we talk about the mighty breakfast. Such is our love for food and taste!
Here in Germany I keep creating that taste and flavour by imbibing the traditional, home-style recipes with contemporary touch and ease to satiate my taste buds. Soon I realised my love of food gave wings to my hobby of cooking. So, here I am, opening the doors of my kitchen for you to learn home-style Indian cooking and eat it in the comfort of my home.
Cooking is all about people. Food is maybe the only universal thing that really has the power to bring everyone together. No matter what culture, everywhere around the world, people get together to eat. Guy Fieri
So, I welcome you all to learn and cook, simple, hands-on, authentic and traditional Indian food in the comfort of my home, my kitchen Tanu’s Rasoi!
I will share with you my deep rooted traditional vegetarian, vegan and non-vegetarian recipes, passed on to me by my mother, grandmother and mother-in-law.
The recipes are adapted to today’s lifestyle and kitchen. You will also get to know the benefits of flavoursome and aromatic spices used in everyday home-style recipes.
Rasoi, in Hindi means ‘kitchen’. For me it’s my temple where I religiously cook. Food is my deity and I offer spices and fresh ingredients to it. And in my kitchen I follow what Julia Child’s has written in her book, ‘My Life in France’, “…no one is born a great cook, one learns by doing.”
The simplified yet authentic, interactive and informative cooking session will be followed by a lovely dinner together. Along with food you will experience Indian hospitality and an interesting exchange of culture and tradition.
